MANILA -- The National Child Labor Committee (NCLC) recently launched the Public Service Announcement (PSA) Video Making Contest. Students, film-making enthusiasts and young amateurs, ages 15-24 years old are invited to submit their 128-video short film, using their smart phones.
For those interested to join, the short film should center on what the youths can do to contribute to the Isang Milyong Batang Malaya Campaign. Accepted formats are .avi, .wmv, and .mp4. All entries must be independently produced and financed.
The deadline of submission of entries is on 02 November 2016. Saved in a CD or DVD, it should be sent to Ms. Joselle Janolo of Communication Society (CommSoc) of St. Scholastica’s College-Manila, Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila; or to Ms. Ikah Reyes of the Department of Labor and Employment-Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns (DOLE-BWSC) 9/F G.E. Antonino Bldg., J. Bocobo St., corner T.M. Kalaw Ave., Manila.
Winners will be announced on 08 November 2016, during the celebration of the World Day Against Child Labor sa Pilipinas (WDACL 2016). Cash prizes and giveaways are at stake. For more details, visit http:/site.clkss.org.ph/@@register.
The “Isang Milyong Batang Malaya” is a national campaign spearheaded by the NCLC. It aims to remove 1 million children from child labor by 2025. It also seeks to protect children through the effective enforcement of child labor laws and policies. (NCLC)
