QUEZON CITY -- A huge multi-national company engaged in the production and marketing of fruits is the latest addition to the growing list of big private organizations that has expressed its support to the government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Ismael ‘Mike’ D. Sueno said a representative of pineapple industry giant Dole Philippines, Inc. recently visited the Department to inform him of the company’s initiatives to show support to the anti-illegal drugs effort of the Duterte Administration.
According to Secretary Sueno, Atty. Melquiades L. Hernandez III, Director for Corporate Affairs Division of Dole Philippines said that their company’s management, through their Managing Director Randolph I. Fleming, signed a commitment form which enumerated the manager’s pledge in the campaign against illegal drugs, supported by the rank and file employees.
Dole Philippines employees likewise signified their commitment and support to the campaign by signing their names on a large tarpaulin displayed prominently in front of the company building.
Hernandez also said that Dole has pledged to support and work with the police in providing information on any groups or individuals involved in illegal drugs within their establishment.
Moreover, the Dole Philippines management has also instructed its security unit to establish direct links and coordination with the Philippine National Police in undertaking an anti-illegal drugs awareness and information drive.
Sueno expressed much gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of Dole Philippines as he enjoined other big companies to do the same initiatives.
“I am making this appeal to all the members of the private sector to follow the lead of Dole Philippines,Inc. so that we can achieve a lot more as far as the campaign against illegal drugs and criminality are concerned,”he said.
The Secretary believes that “mas marami tayong magagawa kapag tulong-tulong tayo”.

Earlier, D.M. Consunji Incorporated,San Miguel Corporation,Jollibee Foods Corp. and other big taipans came forward to pledge their support for the anti-illegal drugs drive and the construction of rehabilitation centers.
