Camp Vicente Lim – The personnel of Police Regional Office CALABARZON and other offices within the premises of Camp Vicente Lim participated this afternoon in the simultaneous 1st Quarter Earthquake Drill.
The siren alarmed which signaled to alert the personnel of Police Regional Office CALABARZON and other tenant offices and immediately perform to duck, cover, and hold. After a minute, all personnel in an orderly manner proceeded outside their respective offices to a safer place at the grounds of Camp Vicente Lim.
The drill scenario revolves around the occurrence of a magnitude 7.2 earthquake that resulted in the injuries of personnel from the Regional Tactical Operations Center, the Regional Police Community Relations Division, and the Regional Intelligence Detection Management Division.
During the drill, all concerned agencies activated their facilities to respond to victims of the said incident. Response clusters such as Emergency Operation Center, Incident Management Team, and Emergency Response Team were also activated at the Camp’s Parade Ground. Rescue teams from the Regional Public Safety Battalion were deployed and ambulances were at standby point to rescue and evacuate the victims.
Office of the Civil Defense representative Mr. Randy N. Dela Paz commends the efforts of everyone in their participation to assess the capability of agencies in responding to emergency situations specifically in the management of the Incident Command System (ICS), the preparedness of the Incident Command Team, evacuation of affected individuals, and the application of medical assistance and relief.
The drill is part of the government’s continuing efforts in enhancing preparedness and awareness and to assess the capacity level and response of the participating personnel in times of calamities such as earthquake.(PIO- PRO4A)
