The Department of Education (DepEd)- Lucena City National High School will be holding its annual “Brigada Eskwela” on May 15-21 at Lucena City National High School, this city, Barangay Ibabang Dupay. The one weeklong activity will start through a Brigada Eskwela schools division kickoff program and caravan on May 15 at 6AM at the Lucena City National High School Gymnasium.
Other highlights on May 15 include a zumba session and motorcade. According to Dr. Rolito M. Inojoso, Principal II of Lucena City National High School and Brigada Eskwela overall chair, the theme of this year’s Brigada Eskwela is “DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, isang bayanihan para sa ligtas na paaralan” and the activity held is pursuant to DepEd Memorandum No. 19s. 2017.
The activity aims to prepare the classrooms, surroundings and other facilities of Lucena City National High School prior to the school opening in June 2017. Relative to this, the Lucena City National High School is seeking assistance from stakeholders such as donation in kind for replacing and painting the roof of schools, cementing existing pathways, foothpaths and drains, repairing comfort rooms and wash facilities, painting exterior walls of classrooms, cleaning-up the surrounding areas of the school and any other types or repairs needed to be done.
Other forms of assistance include first-aid kits, emergency kits, health and hygiene kits and voluntary may-days/labor support to the school.
