LUCENA CITY, Quezon -- The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is now accepting proposals for Arts and Culture projects for 2018.
In a ‘Kapihan sa PIA,’ Rene Napenas, NCCA public information officer said that accredited associations such as civil society organizations, indigenous people’s organization, local government Units (LGUs) universities/colleges and even government agencies may submit a letter of intent and project proposal to NCCA on or before August 31, 2017.
Projects are categorized into arts; heritage; cultural dissemination; cultural communities and traditional arts.
Project briefs as well as guidelines and requirements can be viewed and downloaded at the NCCA website (grants@ncca.gov.ph or info@ncca.gov.ph) according to Napenas.
Aside from guesting at Kapihan sa PIA, the NCCA organized a forum attended by about 300 participants composed of municipal tourism officers and other government employees from Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon province.
To gain support from participants and other arts and culture patrons, an open forum followed after NCCA officials discussed NCCA Arts and Culture proposals 2018.
NCCA is the overall policy making, coordinating and grants giving agency for the preservation, development , and promotion of Philippine Arts and Culture.
NCCA’s several functions include promotion of cultural and artistic development, conservation and promotion of the nation’s historical and cultural heritage, nationwide dissemination of artistic and cultural products and preservation and integration of traditional culture as part of the national cultural mainstream.
