Pagbilao, Quezon -- Fifteen (15) electric fans were donated to the inmates of Pagbilao District Jail by the Local Government Unit of Pagbilao through the initiative of Mayor Shierre Ann Portes-Palicpic, October 24, 2017. Aside from the new electric fans, Mayor Palicpic also distributed toiletries such as soap and toothpaste.
Medical staff of the Pagbilao Municipal Health Center, meanwhile, held a medical and dental mission. Detainees had a chance to consult with the municipal doctor their health condition and/or undergo tooth extraction done by the municipal dentist.
Members of Men Opposed to Violence Against Women and Children Everywhere (MOVE), led by MOVE Pagbilao President and Municipal Administrator Ian Palicpic, discussed the projects and activities of the group.
The LGU Pagbilao is a regular partner of the Pagbilao District Jail. It has earlier donated a generator set.
The Pagbilao District Jail, located at Brgy. Talipan, currently has 1,370 detainees, almost a hundred of which are Pagbilao residents. It is managed by J/CINSP Jose Esquinas of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
