The Volunteers Against Crimes and Corruption (VACC) is asking President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to place Region IV-A (CALABARZON) which includes Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon under the state of emergency due to the recorded big number of students who were vaccinated of given the controversial Dengvaxia Vaccine.

Besides CALABARZON, two (2) other regions, National Capital Region (NCR) and Central Luzon should also be placed under the state of emergency, according to VACC.

VACC Chairman Dante Jimenez said that it appears SANOFI just because its clinical trial has not yet been completed when it sold the vaccine in the Philippines.

Jimenez added that cases of severe dengue illness being reported increases everyday which is suspected to be due to Dengvaxia vaccine. This, he stressed should be acted upon immediately by the Duterte administration.

Earlier, the Department of Health (DOH) announced that starting January 2018, it will conduct visitations and inpection in various schools which gave the vaccine to their students to determine the effect on them.

As of press time, no reports have been received whether the Dengvaxia effect has reached Quezon Province, particularly in the third district where 100 students in a public school in General Luna town had been vaccinated.
