LUCENA CITY -- As the quote says, your strength doesn’t come from winning, it comes from... Turn to p/3 struggles and hardship, everything that you go through prepares you for the next level. This quote best reflects the philosophy of a person who has unwavering determination to try their luck for similar opportunities that they have already accomplished in the past. Like in all beauty pageants, it’s all about displaying the best aspects of the contestant. The judges want to see how great they look, interview, and perform their talent. They’re already beautiful and capable, but winning a beauty pageant takes practice.
Among the 40 2018’s Binibining Pilipinas candidates, Ahtisa Manalo is one of the winner of Binibining Pilipinas 2018. Ahtisa is to represent PH in Miss International 2018. The Binibining Pilipinas 2018 winners were announced at the pageant’s coronation night on Sunday, March 18, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Ahtisa’s one of the fresh faces who stood out because of her mestiza features and tall height. Her angelic face is undeniably attractive with an electromagnetic nature. She’s 20 year’s old who stands 5’9″ tall from Candelaria, Quezon. She graduated at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) Candelaria branch with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. She was crowned Binibining Niyogyugan last 2016 and eventually represented Niyogyugan festival of Quezon province at the Reyna ng Aliwan 2017 where she finished 2nd runner up. Ahtisa also won six special awards including Best in Swimsuit and Best in Evening Gown. She has represented the Candle Festival of her native Candelaria at Aliwan Fiesta, dubbed as the festival of all festivals.
When asked about the relevance of the Bb. Niyogyugan Pageant during the final question- and-answer round, Manalo said that “The livelihood of Quezonians is based on the coconut industry which comprises almost 80% of the province’s agriculture. Quezon is not Quezon without coconuts.” She’s been trained by Aces & Queens since 2016.
It was only at the age of 16, when she started to do entering beauty pagents, that she embraced her statuesque beauty. If you closely followed the search for Miss Teen Earth & Little Miss Earth Philippines back in 2014, Manalo was one of the girl among the teen candidates who stood out. Then at 18, showing so much promise to compete with the big leagues of beauty pageants, Ahtisa went from an ‘awkward and gangly’ teen, blossom into a confident smart, and beautiful young woman. Ahtisa takes inspiration from Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
