SARIAYA, Quezon -- The municipal government of Sariaya recently received a livelihood check worth P1,913,873.74 from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 4A for livelihood activities of persons with disabilities in this town.
Labor and employment officer Kim Daren Pabilonia of DOLE-Quezon provincial office said that the fund will be used in meat processing particularly longganisa and burger patty making by the Samahan ng mga Manggagawang may kapansanan ng Sariaya which is composed of 50 members.
Another program beneficiary is the Samahan ng mga Magulang na Nagtataguyod sa mga Anak na may Kapansanan- Sariaya Inc. which has 75 members who will use the fund for a dressmaking enterprise.
Pabilonia also said that the municipal government of Sariaya under the leadership of Mayor Marcelo Gayeta has constructed a livelihood center amounting to P2.4M at Barangay Pili, Sariaya, Quezon as counterpart assistance of the Sariaya LGU for the implementation of such livelihood projects for persons with disabilities.
