TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 4-A (Calabarzon), in partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) - Southern Luzon, is spearheading the 4th Regional MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) Development Council Conference at the St. Jude Coop Hotel and Resort here on Sept. 27.
The conference aims to instill innovation and enhance competitiveness among MSMEs in the region.
Mia Angeline V. Cortez, DTI 4-A public information officer, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Wednesday that the conference theme, “Accelerating 7Ms for Innovative Competitive MSME: The Calabarzon Challenge”, is an offshoot of the two-day national MSME summit held in Clark, Pampanga last July 10-11.
Cortez said the conference will feature various opportunities and initiatives under the so - called 7Ms-framework for successful entrepreneurship.
The 7Ms stand for mindset change, mastery, mentoring, money, machine, market access, and models of business.
“This seven-point strategy framework was first introduced in the Philippines-hosted 2017 ASEAN summit last July 14, 2017 as initiated by the ASEAN Economic Council (AEC),” she said.
DTI-4-A Director Marilou Q. Toledo, who is also concurrent chair of the Calabarzon Regional MSME Development Council, said this year’s conference would highlight the role of MSMEs as providers of employment and drivers of the country’s economic growth.
“The Council believes that the continued support from both government and private sector to our MSMEs will enable our MSMEs to be instrumental in generating inclusive growth,” Toledo said.
The conference will serve as a venue for prominent industry leaders, promising entrepreneurs, innovators, advocates, mentors, and enablers to engage in a collaborative exchange on business knowledge, insights, and successful journey as they interact with other resource persons and experts. (PNA)
