LUCENA CITY - The Philippine Statistics Office (PSA)- Quezon provincial office lined up various activities in line with the 29th National Statistics Month celebration October.

In a recent “Kapihan sa PIA” held at the Pacific Mall here, Provincial Statistics Officer (PSO) Airene Pucyutan said the theme of this year’s statistics month celebration is “Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Tourism Development.”

“Sa nasabing tema ng pagdiriwang, mas tutukan natin ngayon ang pagpapaunlad ng turismo, may mga magagandang tourists sites sa lalawigan ng Quezon na hindi pa nako-cover at kailangan ng intervention, malaki ang contribution ng tourism sa economy,” (For this year’s celebration we will focus more on improving the tourism industry. There are beautiful tourist sites in Quezon which are not covered and need intervention, tourism has a big contribution to the economy), Pucyutan added.

Among the activities to be conducted by the PSA-Quezon in line with the month-long celebration of statistics month are as follows: Video making contest; Basic statistics seminar for students; Slogan writing contest; radio hosting contest; and on the spot poster making contest which will be participated by students from different schools in the province of Quezon.

The winners in the different contests will receive cash prizes from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Quezon.
