Lucena City - Eight police commanders of the two cities and six big municipalities in Quezon province were relieved from their respective posts on orders of the Police Regional Office-Calabarzon headquarters.
To fill up the vacancies, eight police officers coming from the regional office and Rizal Police Provincial Office were designated officers-in-charge to the posts.
Quezon police director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, who presided the turnover ceremony yesterday, identified them as Supt. Reydante Ariza, who was assigned OIC to Lucena City Police Station replacing Supt. Romulo Albacea, Supt. Julio Go to Sariaya Police Station vice Supt. Rafael Torres, Supt. Franco Allex Reglos vice Supt. Eduardo Mallo, Supt. Alvin Consolacion to Tiaong Police Station replacing Supt. Dennis de Leon, Supt. Mark Joseph Laygo to Ta-yabas City Police Statio vice Chief Insp. Dandy Aguilar, Supt. Erwin Obal to Lopez Police Station succeeding Chief Insp. Noel Divino, Chief Insp. Mederic de Guzman to Gumaca Police Station vice Senior Insp. San Juan Felmar Aquino and Chief Insp. Jan Albert Rongavilla to Atimonan Police Station replacing Chief Insp. Michael Encio.
In his message, De Guzman commended the efforts made by the relieved officers in their respective stations and wished them good luck to their new assignments.
“I know you did all your best, especially Supt. Albacea, to make your respective cities and towns peaceful and free from illegal drugs and other forms of illegal activities and I commend you for that. With your new assignments, I wish you all the best,” said De Guzman.
He said the fruits of their labors are now being enjoyed by the stakeholders in their respective cities and towns. But De Guzman said that the police have still a lot of things to do to totally eliminate illegal drugs and combat criminalities. Rumors have it that politics has something to do with the sudden reshuffle of police personnel in the province but it was vehemently denied by the police.
Supt. Citadel Gaoiran, the PRO-Calabarzon Public Information Officer, said the reshuffling of police personnel was a result of the performance assessment made by the PNP Oversight Committee under Senior Supt. Marlon, the deputy regional director for operation. From the month of June to September, Gaoiran said some of the affected personnel fell short in their performance while the others are already overstaying in their posts.
Gaoiran said PRO-Calabarzon police director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza had sent letters to the concerned mayors informing them of the changes in the leadership of their police stations.
