LOPEZ, QUEZON--- Two personnel of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and a retired policeman died while seven others were hurt after the vehicle they were riding in was smashed by a passenger bus at Bgy. Pansol, here, late Friday night. Town police commander, Chief Insp. Noel Divino identified the fatalities as SFO2 Cleto Nataño, FO3 Ronald Alcala and retired SPO4 Juanito Unyiveros, all reidents of Tafkawayan, Quezon. Divino named those injured as FO3 Roderick Odi, Reynold Talain, 31,Aimee Lerum,19, Marlex Mendegorin, 20, Dandy Severa, 21, Ariel Cris Principe , 22, and Lenon Tagulinao, 19. He said the incident took place at 9:45 p.m. while the three fatalities and Odi were on a Mitsubishi Adventure driven by Alcala on its way to Bicol region. Divino said a Manila- bound Daewo passenger bus tailing an overtaking bus accidentally hit the Adventure. "The bus driver to tried to avoid collision with the incoming Adventure by but it was too late. Kinabig n'yang pilit ang manibela pero inabot pa rin", said Divino. On impact, he said the bus rammed into a house resulting to the minor injury of some passengers while the adventure collided with a moving Nissan Urvan resulting to the sudden death of the trio and wounding of Odi. Divino said all those injured were immediately taken to Magsaysay Memorial District Hospital. (GEMI FORMARAN)
