In support to the Department’s policy development process, research agenda, and policy program development implementation, DepEd continues to promote and strengthen the culture of research in basic education. Through DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2017 also known as Research Management Guidelines, under Research Management Cycle sec. 8 Dissemination and Utilization. The school, MPAIHS in DepEd Lucena City disseminates students’ research results to the Brgy. Officials of Mayao Parada, spearheaded by the school research coordinator, Angelo S. Villanueva and coordinated to Brgy. Captain, Hon. Evelyn D. Ramos, along with the Brgy. Councilors and SK Chairman Jay E. Calapit during Barangay Sangguniang Pagpupulong, March 15.
This activity aimed to disseminate and utilize students’ research output among its beneficiaries in the community. Each student-researcher presented their scholarly works and development plans for the community, whereas, positive response and from the barangay officials were manifested with their high regards in promoting culture of excellence through research, innovation, development and sustainability of programs.
The pillar of the research results presented were on the aspects of community-based development in agriculture, war on waste project, azolla juice extract in rice production, vermicomposting, ripening mango, student’s discipline, curriculum exits and work immersion programs. A total of twenty-seven (27) participants graced the activity composed of 15 barangay officials, 6 student-researchers, and 6 parent-representatives.
Villanueva intensified in this activity that knowledge generated by research is the basis of continuous improvement and sustainable development, which requires that knowledge be placed at the service of development, be converted into applications, and be shared to utilize results and ensure widespread benefits.
This activity was a continuous program in research of the school initiated project GREATEST: Grasping Research, Embracing Authentic Trends to Empower Students and Teachers.
