by GEMI FORMARAN MACALELON, QUEZON--- The son of a mayoralty candidate in Quezon province died after the vehicle he was in crashed into the railings along the provincial road in Brgy. Taguin, here, on Tuesday afternoon. Quezon Public Information Office chief Chief Insp. Elizabeth Capistrano identified the victim as Diego Carlo de Luna, 28, son of Emman de Luna who is running for mayor in Mulanay, Quezon. Capistrano said the incident transpired at 2:15 p. m.while the Isuzu mux SUV where the victim as riding in and driven by Rosendo Samilay, 33, of Brgy. Santa Rosa, Mulanay, Quezon suddenly hit the road railings hitting two residential houses and a parked.motorcyle before it tumbled. On impact, Capistrano said the victim sustained severe injuries while Samilay was luckily unhurt. She said the victim was given first aid by responding personnel of Bureau of Fire Protection of Macalelon and was immediately taken to Gumaca District Hospital but eventually died. Capistrano said Samilay who reportedly escaped after the incident could not be located for questioning.
