“Ang land disposition info campaign sa PENRO Rizal ay naglalayong magbigay payo sa mga tao na nagnanais na magpatitulo ng kanilang lupa (The land disposition information campaign of PENRO Rizal aims to provide advice to interested applicants for legal title to their lands). Hundreds of clients turned to the event where they were provided free consultations on their application for free patent for either residential or agricultural lands,” Javier said in an interview Monday.
The campaign is pursuant to the guidelines on the Issuance of Free Patents to Residential Lands stipulated under Republic Act No. 10023, otherwise known as The Free Patent Act; and Commonwealth Act 141 on the Public Land Act and Free Patent for Agricultural Land which simplify the titling process.
The DENR Land Management Bureau (LMB) said under the new, simplified titling process, the number of land titles issued each year has dramatically increased from 4,000 prior to 2010 to 60,000 each year since the passage of the law.
RA 10023 was approved on March 9, 2010.
The DENR guidelines based on the new law imposes a mandatory 120 plus five-day processing period for applications to ensure a faster and more efficient titling process. (PNA)
