The comment of neophyte Sen. Bato dela Rosa on the death of a child perceived wrong and heartless.
According to the police report a three-year-old Myka Ulpina died after being caught in a crossfire during an anti-narcotics operation in Rodriguez, Rizal last June 30. Ulpina’s father, Renato, and another companion, as well as Senior Master Sgt. Conrad Cabigao, who went undercover, also died in the shootout. The police said Renato fired at the police and used his daughter as shield. The child’s mother belied this. Dela Rosa defended the police operation, saying families of suspected drug pushers sometimes make up stories.
New York-based Human Rights Watch condemned the child’s death, noting that police accounts of drug raids “are not reliable because the officers enforcing the “drug war” have been shown to manufacture evidence.”
On the other hand The Commission on Human Rights said minors caught in the crossfire of the government’s initiative in combatting illegal drugs in the country are simply not collateral damages. They are victims. Their hopes and dreams fall short once bullet enter their bodies.
Duterte perverts our Constitution by calling it toilet paper, then Bato explains cops’ killing of a little Myca as shit happens. He calls himself Bato because he says he’s a reformed addict. But won’t allow others to reform like he allegedly did, and chucks it to “shit happens.” Easy for him to say that.
These swines in the top hierarchies of Philippine government are morally, intellectually and bankrupt.
The sad part of it was the shit called happened was not by accident but by choice. Shit is what happens when you cause the death of innocent children. Her blood stains your hands. Unfortunately our government sure as hell is not going to do anything about it.
