MANILA - The House of Representatives re-elected Quezon 4th District Representative Angelina “Helen” Tan, M.D. as Chairperson of the Committee on Health under the 18th Congress, on Wednesday, July 31.
“I was elected as Chair of the Committee on Health again for 18th Congress. Thanks to my NPC Family and Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano and Majority Leader Cong. Martin Romualdez for trusting me,” Tan said in her Facebook account.

Tan will chair all matters directly and principally relating to public health and hygiene, and quarantine, medical, hospital, and other health facilities and services.
“Rest assured I will work hard to fight for the right to health of our countrymen,” she added.
Tan chaired the House Committee on Health in 17th congress where she and her Senate counterpart, Joseph Victor Ejercito spearheaded the passage of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Bill into law that automatically enrolls all Filipino citizens in the National Health Insurance Program and prescribes complementary reforms in the health system.
