Trece Martires City, Cavite – About 240 pregnant women took part in the recently concluded Buntis Congress held at the General Trias City Convention Center.
With the theme “Pagbubuntis ng Ina at Mahalaga, Kaya’t Magpacheck-Up Na,” the event aimed to intensify awareness on the significance of regular pre-natal check-up and proper nutrition for maternal and child health during pregnancy.
General Trias City Councilor Atty. Kristine Perdito-Barison, chair of Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee for Health, emphasized the importance of the program in the journey to motherhood as it creates consciousness on how to achieve a safe pregnancy.

City Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Leonavie Baylen explained that the First 1000 Days of the Baby, serves as a stepping stone towards a child’s better quality of life adding that exclusive breastfeeding should be given on the first 6 months of the baby.
During the event, City Councilors Florencio Ayos, Pafoo Lozares, Jonas Labuguen and Isagani Culanding shared their own experiences being husbands to their pregnant wives, as they play a vital role in ensuring successful and safe childbirth.
A series of discussions were provided to the expectant mothers to ensure they will be guided throughout their maternity.
