LUCENA CITY - In consonance with the orders of President Rodrigo Duterte, the Quezon Police Provincial Office has stopped all Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) gaming operations in the province.
After receiving a directive from Philippine National Police chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde through PRO4-A director Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza, QPPO OIC Col. Audie Madrideo, said he immediately instructed to all his city and town police commanders to get rid of all forms of legal and illegal gambling activities in their areas.
Madrideo said he also directed the commanders of 1st and 2nd Quezon Provincial Mobile Force Company under Lt. Col. Arnulfo Silencio and Major Reynaldo Reyes to assist the local police in carrying out the orders.
As a result, he said 44 Small Town Lottery outlets, 93 Lotto outlets and 29 Keno outlets were immdiately padlocked.
Madrideo said the management of Pirouette Corporation that oprerates STL in Quezon did not show any resistance during the stoppage of its operation and closure of all its outlets.
“I have also ordered all our operating units to intensify anti- illegal gambling campaign as we anticipate the possible ressurection of jueteng operation with the closure of STL”, said Madrideo.
He said jueteng operators may take advantage of the absence of STL operation.
“I have also reminded all my unit cmmanders of the “one strike policy” of our PNP chief for them to strictly implement our campaign.
