BATANGAS CITY - Nananawagan sa lahat ng mga negosyante at iba't ibang establisyemento at maging sa mga institusyon ng gobyerno ang isang mataas na opisyal ng House of Representatives, na mahigpit na sumunod at ipatupad ang bata na naglilibre sa mahigit 1.5-milyong persons with disabilities (PWDS) o mga may kapansanan, sa pagbabayad ng 12 porsiyentong value added tax (VAT) sa mga produkto at serbisyo.

"Yes, we are calling for stricter compliance and full implementation of the law, Republic Act 10754 or An Art Expanding the Benefits and Privileges of Persons with Disability. The House will keenly monitor the implementation, and we will be vigilant in guaranteeing that the compassionate law that (former) Congressman Martin Romualdez advocated, ay maipatupad po talaga nang maayos upang magbigay pag-asa sa PWD sector. Maipapakita rin po dito na ang ating pamahalaan ay ginagawa ang lahat upang sila ay matulungan," paliwanag in Batangas Second District Representative Raneo Abu na muling itinalaga bilang House Deputy Speaker.

Ang naturang batas ay itinakda ni Romualdez at ng mga co-authors niya kabilang Senador Sonny Angara, na nilagdaan pa ni dating pangulo, Noynoy Aquino noong Marso 24, ilang taon na ang nakakalipas. Binigyang-diin in Abu na malaking tulong at ginhawa para sa mga PWDs kung exempted sila sa pagbabayad ng 12 percent VAT na siyang itinatadhana sa naturang batas.
