TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite – More than 90 members of the five pillars of justice system recently gathered for a dialogue consultation to assess some prevailing issues of the youth and address the local government unit’s concerns in handling cases of Children In Conflict with Law (CICL).
Family Court Judges, Prosecutors, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Lawyers, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Local Social Welfare and Development Officers had their commitment setting at the Cavite Provincial Capitol's Ceremonial Hall. Each pillar was asked to write down their promises signifying dedication in protecting the welfare of children and promoting harmonious relationship.
Attorney Khervy Reyes, consultant of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and concurrent Office-in Charge of the Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCLEDO) stressed out everyone’s efforts to resolve the proliferation of juvenile crimes and proper implementation of Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act in the entire province.
Provincial Administrator for Community Affairs Mr. Alvin Mojica representing Governor Jonvic Remulla shared an update of the provincial government's progress in constructing the Bahay Pag-Asa in the town of Indang. Mojica revealed the provincial government’s continuous support to programs and projects that will cater to minors and provide immediate action in accordance with the law.
Ms. Aurelia Cainday-Mendoza, PSWDO Social Welfare Officer I conveyed the consolidated issues and concerns in handling CICL and Child at Risk (CAR) submitted by different LSWDO in line with the implementation of R.A. 9344 otherwise known as Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006.
