GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite - The 5th Cavite Travel Fair formally opened on Thursday at Robinson's Place-General Trias activity center to promote primarily both the traditional and new tourism destinations and holiday escapades in the province.

Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua led the travel opening rites, featuring the entry of the Skyjet Airline and Palladium Hotel Coron, along with 31 tourism and related-establishment exhibitors including 17 travel agencies and 10 hotels.

"This is one step to promote our local tourist spots here in Cavite and get good promo and get to know the best places here in our province" Karen de Lara, Cavite tourism officer, said in an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

De Lara said their Cavite Tourism Office has recorded around 6,153,361 tourist/visitor arrivals in the province in 2018, where some 5,810,711 of these are local tourists and 342,650 are foreign tourists.
