GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite - The 5th Cavite Travel Fair formally opened on Thursday at Robinson's Place-General Trias activity center to promote primarily both the traditional and new tourism destinations and holiday escapades in the province.
Noveleta Mayor Dino Chua led the travel opening rites, featuring the entry of the Skyjet Airline and Palladium Hotel Coron, along with 31 tourism and related-establishment exhibitors including 17 travel agencies and 10 hotels.
"This is one step to promote our local tourist spots here in Cavite and get good promo and get to know the best places here in our province" Karen de Lara, Cavite tourism officer, said in an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA).
De Lara said their Cavite Tourism Office has recorded around 6,153,361 tourist/visitor arrivals in the province in 2018, where some 5,810,711 of these are local tourists and 342,650 are foreign tourists.

She said Cavite’s eco-farm tourism is one of the most sought after among new destinations and staycations for visitors/tourists.
Some of these are the Patio Buendia Farm Resort, Bayleaf Hotel, and Microtel Hotel in General Trias, Residence Inn in Tagaytay City, Tanza Oasis Hotel in Capipisa, Tanza, Calinisan Resort, Caliraya Resort, and Chateau Royale Resorts that are among the list of hotel resort exhibitors.
Travel Agency exhibitors include Blessed Feet Travels, Blessed Genesis Travels, Costa Cruises, Easy Flowing Travels, Galamore Travels, Gateway Tours, Kadto Travels, LC Woodworks, Map Travels, Viajero Gabrielle Tours, Our Lady of Holy Rosary Travels, Super Save Travels, Tift Travels, Timezone Travels, Travelex Travels, and Tours.
In an interview, the travel and tour agencies operators also vowed to present more attractive and affordable packages that would promote Cavite tourism destinations not only “must travel goals” but also “a convenient, hospitable and memorable lifetime experience.” (PNA)
