Further, the Mayor reminded everyone to make sure that the meat sold by their trusted vendors came from an accredited slaughterhouse with a National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS) certificate.
"Look for NMIS tag ‘inspected and passed’. This certifies the meat passed thorough inspection in the slaughterhouse,” Maliksi emphasized.
In line with the #ASFfreeImus campaign, the city government appeals to the public to do their part in taking necessary steps to prevent the manifestation of ASF. It also urges the public to continue patronizing local meat products instead of buying imported pork meat.
