LUCENA CITY - The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) has seized P44, 495, 306 worth of illegal drugs resulting in the arrest of 364 drug suspects within the more than two months of continuous anti- criminality operation, police officials said on Thursday.
In a media briefing, Public Information Officer Major Elizabeth Capistrano said QPPO under the stewardship of Col. Audie Madrideo has arrested 481 wanted persons including 7 most wanted in the regional level, 7 in thd provincial level and 52 in the city/ municipal level.
Madrideo assumed his post as Officer-In- Charge of QPPO late July.
In the campaign against loose firearms, Capistrano reported the arrest of 46 persons and seizure of 59 firearms apart from the 398 assorted firearms that were surrendered by their owners pending the renewal of their firearms registration and License To Own and Possess Firearms (LTOFT).
As to the campaign against illegal gambling, the lady PIO said 308 persons were arrested while P69, 694 gambling money were confiscated.
Capistrano said the police drive against illegal logging has resulted in the arrest of 32 violators and seizure of P398, 184 worth of illegal lumber and flitches.
In a seperate interview, Madrideo vowed to gain more accomplishments in the anti- criminality campaign especially their intensified drive against illegal drugs.
