Vice President Leni Robredo

"We still think of a powerful man as a born leader and a powerful woman as an anomaly." - Margaret Atwood

Vice President Leni Robredo is a smart capable woman who does not defer to men. They hate this about her! MR. PRESIDENT WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN SO MUCH? You and your boys are misogynist who finds a reason to undermine any woman who is a threat to their ambitions.

Duterte tried to spring a trap on Robredo. If she had refused the offer, she would have lost the ascendancy to criticize the drug war. Accepting the post was the right move. You hate to see it. Duterte accepts it, you cannot take any kind of criticism!

President Rodrigo Duterte to Vice President Leni Robredo said on October 28, 2019, “I will surrender my powers to enforce the law. Ibigay ko sa vice president. Ibigay ko sa kanya mga six months. Siya ang magdala. Tignan natin kung ano ang mangyari. Hindi ako makialam. Sige, gusto mo? Mas bright ka? Sige, ikaw. Subukan mo.”

But Duterte later told reporters that he is not surrendering anything but said he would like to "commission" Robredo to be his "drug czar."

On October 30, 2019, Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo shows off his text message to Robredo, asking her if she accepts the offer of Duterte for her to be the drug czar. Robredo denied receiving a text message from him. Even if the calls and texts were true, Panelo could have fabricated the "VP Leni Robredo" phone entry, the right level of respect would have been at least an e-mail. On the other hand Senator Christopher 'Bong' Go has challenged Robredo to accept Duterte’s offer as drug czar.

On November 6, 2019, Duterte's allies urged Robredo to accept 'drug czar' appointment

While the citizens urged Robredo to accept the president's offer because to them this is her chance to prove her worth and ability as Vice President. Duterte testing Robredo's mettle with drug czar offer. Some people give her multiple warnings Robredo that if she enters the lion's den, accepting her designation as co-chair of the government campaign against illegal drugs is walking into a trap.

In spite of warnings that she is being set up for disappointment, Robredo accepted Duterte's demand to lead the war on drugs on November 6, 2019.

“Even if we say that the offer was mere politicking and the government agencies will not follow me and they will do everything for me not to succeed, I’m ready to bear all of these. Because if I can save one innocent life, my principles and heart are telling me I should give it a try,” a beaming Robredo told reporters at her Quezon City office.

Some people said napasubo si Duterte and cohorts. While others said it's Robredo who is napasubo.

I don't expect anyone to fix the drug menace in a whole country in six months or less, but no one should be allowed to make it any bloodier than it already is. May the heavens guide and bless Robredo from hereon.

I think Robredo is good. And she’s speaking a lot better than when she entered politics.

As a true citizen of the Philippines and if we truly love our country and people, let's join hands in helping Robredo with this responsibility she's been given. And this includes prayers for her safety and God to bless and protect her and guide her in her decisions.

Well, I do not desire the failure of any leaders of our nation. I believe that the public are responsible for shortcomings when they openly knew before voting on a leader into office of a democratic nation, that he or she is not qualified for the role, or not competent.

This is not her battle alone, but ours, THE PHILIPPINES vs. DRUGS If she fails, then we all fail.

If Duterte's administration is just using the drug war for politicking, it just shows that this administration never really cared about it. The centerpiece of this government being used as a political tool just shows that this administration just plays politics and never intended to govern.

I salute Robredo's courage in facing reality. I admire her for how she handles the situation with class and elegance. She still wants teamwork with Duterte despite of his allies bashing her. It's always a choice to help. Showing how ballsy and brave with the purest of intentions to help is so commendable! Whatever the result is, by only accepting the challenge already gives hope that there is always sincerity in your goals to help out. Let us all help the VP achieve the goal, and in the process unite this divided nation. Despite all the odds, your genuine heart to serve the people win this call.

We need women who are so strong they can be gentle, so educated they can be humble, so fierce they can be compassionate, so passionate they can be rational, and so disciplined they can be free.

Meanwhile Senator Panfilo Morena "Ping" Lacson's advice to Robredo: 'Watch your back' as drug czar. Lacson says he gave Robredo some names she could tap to be among her advisers for the war on drugs.

Yes watch your back, but watch your own back more and be prepared to protect and defend yourself. Because at the end of the day the only person that can help you is your self.
