LOPEZ, Quezon - Motorists travelling from Metro Manila towards Bicol region and vice versa will get to their destination faster and safer with the much awaited opening of a 6- kilometer bypass road, here, on Friday.
Public Works and Highways Sec. Mark Villar formally opened to vehicular traffic the P718 Million Lopez Bypass Road that is expected to lessen the long travel time of motorists.
The newly opened 6.053 km road will provide an option to motorists other than passing the town centers along busy Manila South Road.
It will relieve the traffic congestion in high density areas like public markets, schools anf commercial centers and provide easy access to neihboring towns.
Present along with Villar during the ceremonial inauguration of the road project were Quezon 4th District Rep. Angelina ‘Helen’ Tan who initiated its funding, DPWH Region 4A Director Samson Hebra, Lopez Mayor Rachel Ubana and other local chief executives of Quezon province.
Villar vowed to bring more blessings under President Rodrigo Duterte’s “Build, build, build” program to fund the other proposed multi- million infrastructure projects of Tan.
“The next three years will be more fruitful for South Luzon areas”, said Villar.
Tan in her speech expressed gratefulness to Villar for his continuing support for the improvement of the district by providing funds for high impact and significant projects in the area.
She also thanked Yebra and District Engineer Celestial Flancia for steadfastly implementing the infra projects in her district.
Flancia who works hard for the district was adjudged by Villar as among the department’s top performing district engineers.
