Fossil fuel companies have been burying the evidence on climate change for decades, many have actively funded climate denial-ism. Unconstrained, free-market capitalism has given us climate breakdown. Only democratic socialism can deliver climate justice. Environment advocates call for systemic change and push for the government to address the climate emergency during the global climate strike at Lapu-Lapu Shrine, Luneta Park on Friday, November 29.

Go into any vegan restaurant. Look at the stickers on the window, pamphlets they offer, shirts people wear. Human rights. LGBTQA rights. Climate justice. No human is illegal. Anti-racism, anti-fascism. Now go-to spaces for those causes and see if anyone supports animal rights.

According to Wikipedia the Lychee and Dog Meat Festival or Yulin Dog Meat Festival is an annual celebration held in Yulin, Guangxi, China, by the Chinese during the summer solstice in which festival goers eat dog meat and lychees. The festival began in 2009 and spans about ten days during which it is estimated that 10,000–15,000 dogs are consumed. The festival has been criticized by animal welfare and animal rights supporters.

The first festival took place in 2009 to mark the summer solstice. Dog eating is traditional in China, and according to folklore eating the meat during the summer months brings luck and good health. Some also believe dog meat can ward off diseases and heighten men’s sexual performance.

In 2016, 1,000 dogs were rescued from the festival; the previous week 34 animals (21 dogs, eight puppies, and five cats and kittens) were rescued from a slaughter facility in Yulin by Humane Society International. In 2017, over 1,300 dogs were rescued by activists.

Vegans don’t prioritize animal rights over human rights. We prioritize both because injustice should always be opposed. It will always amaze me that so many supporters of human rights not only fail to support animal rights but join their right-wing counterparts in mocking them.

Cruelty against animals is wrong. Period. And, a human child is infinitely more valuable than any animal. A nation that puts animals above children is a nation without justice or a future.

Shocked with disgusting hesitation. Animals of this unprecedented heinous crime must be punished at no matter what. Justice denied if justice delays. Standing up for animals is an act of justice.

No mercy in the animal agriculture! People only consider those animals as objects to be treated as food! They never understand that they are sentient and important! Please reconnect yourself with the truth. Animals deserve justice and freedom.

Humans could learn so much from animals. Where is the social justice law for animals! Anyone that abuses an animal should have the same done on them.

We should be the guardians of this world and not the executioners! This needs to stop. Slaughtering animals in the name of God should be stopped across the religions. Be it Eid or Turkey festival or Yulin or sacrificing even in Hindu religions. Gods preached nonviolence you idiots, simply stop it.
