 CALAMBA CITY - Aimed at supporting a newly created national task force, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)- Calabarzon is now forming an special support unit called Regional Enforcement Task Group (RETG).

This was announced by Forester Oliver Viado, chief of Enforcement Division of DENR- Calabarzon during the 4th quarter meeting of Regional Multisectoral Forest Protection Committee (RMFPC) held at Mont Vista Resort & Hotel, Brgy. Pansol, here.

RMFPC is composed of community representatives and government officers who meet to work with the DENR as partners in forest protection.

Viado who also heads the RMFPC secretariat said the task group will be composed by the Regional Executive Director, Assitant Regional Director for Technical Services, Regional Director, Environmental Management Bureau, Regional Director, Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Chief, Enfircement Division, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officers of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon, and RMFPC members.

Viado also informed the group that the formation of the task group to be headed by DENR Regional Execitive Director Gilbert Gonzales is in consonance with a memorandum issued by DENR Usec. Juan Miguel Cuna which aims to assist the newly created Environmental Protection and Enforcement Task Force (EPETF) in the regional level.

Headed by Executive Director Nilo Tamoria, EPETF was ordered created by Environment Sec. Roy Cimatu thru an special order dated August 20, 2019.
