LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The provincial government of Quezon through the Provincial Gender and Development Office and the Men Opposed to Violence Against Women and Children Everywhere (MOVE)-Quezon federation will be holding its annual “Men’s day celebration in this city on November 29, 2019 with the theme “VAW Free Community Starts with Me”.
Provincial Gender and Development Office head Ofelia Palayan said the activity aims to raise awareness on the problem of violence and the elimination/reduction of all forms of violence against women and girls in the province.
“Men’s day celebration will highlight the “Search and awarding of Makabagong Andres” that will recognize outstanding men in the province of Quezon that best embody the qualities of virtuous model,” Palayan said.

There will be a grand a parade which will start from Pacific Mall, Lucena City to Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City to be participated by more than 3,0000 MOVE officers and members from different towns of Quezon.
A mass shall be held also at the Convention Center before the program proper to be highlighted by a presentation of talents by a MOVE member/officer from the four districts of Quezon province.
Other highlights of the event include the awarding of recognition to seven outstanding men in Quezon also called as “Makabagong Andres’ and a message of Quezon governor Danilo Suarez as a guest speaker.
