Just My Views on Divorce

“A great philosopher once said: "This is why I'm against passing divorce to be law, because it will be a license for other men to get whoever they fantasy to have, then leave them after for another woman, who may also be their another fantasy, and it'll become a cycle."

Hypocrisy makes me sick. Marriage is not easy. I’m not saying to leave. But what I am saying is the topic should not be taboo. I am not in favor of divorce for myself but I want others to have that chance to get a better life after a failed marriage.

Divorce is not a solution to all problems. At least you have a career and let out. See the other side. But I am not here to advise you but relationships are to cherish and give and take. Whoever be the reason a little adjustment will take you a long way.

Divorce is meant for getting out of unhappy relationships so whoever is against it will just live a miserable life. Getting off the roller coaster isn’t fun, but you’ll be amazed at how soon you don’t feel sick anymore.

On February 5, 2020, the House Committee on Population and Family Relations approved a bill that introduced total divorce and marriage dissolution in the Philippines.

Before it enters the plenary for consideration, the panel formed a technical working group to merge House Bills (HB) 100, 838 and 2263.

HB 100, better known as the new ' Absolute Divorce Act, ' seeks to ensure that the granting of absolute divorce proceedings is secure, effective and inexpensive.

The author of HB 100, Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman, said divorce is an exception to irremediably broken and destroyed marriages and the State has a continuing mandate to protect and maintain marriage as a social institution and family foundation.

In his speech on sponsorship, Lagman said that the enactment of a law on total divorce and marriage dissolution is not prevented by the constitutional tenets on marriage as a social institution and as the family foundation.

Catholic prelates said February 5, 2020, there's a need for more deliberation and debate on the country's legalization of divorce.

Philippine Catholic Bishops ' Conference — Permanent Committee on Public Affairs (CBCP-PCPA) Executive Secretary Fr. Jerome Secillano has called for the people to hold discussions on the subject.

People often have many different views and opinions when it comes to divorce.

Divorce can be applied to those who want to file a divorce and it's a mutual agreement between two parties with a valid and reasonable basis.

It's simple, if you don't want to be divorced then don't. If it's about or against your religion or belief then don't. Just like deciding whether you're going to buy an ice cream or not, it's there and it's just up to you to decide if you'll take it or you don't. Bottom line is, divorce can be just an option, it's voluntary, not compulsory and it has to be agreed upon both parties.

If you don't agree with a divorce I guess you might be happily married. Then, it's not intended for you and it won't hurt or affect you anyways even if it is passed. You don't have to be against it.

Divorce is not and never is a license to remarry.

Divorce is not a license to destroy a relationship.

You can’t make a man want you or stay in a relationship he is not committed to, regardless of a marriage certificate. Just like any other license, it can be revoked!

I hope there are provisions in divorce bill that will cater for the benefits of children that will be affected by it, and the welfare of children will be protected.
