Tanauan City – Inilunsad ng pamahalaang panglunsod ng Tanauan, sa pangunguna ni City Mayor MARY ANGELINE YSON HALILI, Vice Mayor HERMINIGILDO TRINIDAD at buong Sangguniang Panglunsod, ang pagbubukas ng pagdiriwang ng 2020 National Women’s Month na isinasagawa taon-taon tuwing Marso 1-31.

Ang paglulunsad ay isinabay sa flag-raising ceremony noong nakalipas na lunes. Kaugnay nito, inilakad ng City Gender and Development Office sa pnagunguna ni Rebecca D. Javier, CGDH I-ICO-GAD, kasama ang Tanauan City GAD Focal Point System Technical Working Group, City Social Welfare and Development Office, PNP Tanauan, Brgy. VAWC Officers, at DILG Tanauan City CLGOO Marissa Marasigan, ang mga programang inihanda upang maging makabuluhan ang nasabing pagdiriwang.

Katuwang ng pamahalaang panglunsod ang iba’t-ibang establisyimento na nagboluntaryong sumuporta at magkakaloob ng munting handog para sa mga kababaihang kliyente o stakeholders ng lungsod.

Kabilang sa mga ito ay ang Ahbc, Jollibee, Lynderm, Abenson, Banahaw Heals SPA, Mcdonalds, ndex, BARKATE, Prosperity 200, SAVEPOINT Hypermart, TSM, South king, Citimart Supermarket LIGAYA Furniture, PUREGOLD and Exodus. This years’s theme for the celebration is “We make change work for Women.” Activities for the observance of Women’s Month include Distribution of GAD IEC Materials, Medical Caravan, Women’s Summit, HIV Symposium, Interbasketball of Zumba Ladies, Gender Sensitivity Training, Orientation on Magna Carta for Women, Training for Farmers, visitation of SPED School, and culminating or closing program.



Ang Women’s Month ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing marso ng bawat taon upang mabigyan ng pagkilala at pagpapahalaga ang mga kababaihan dahil sa kanilang mga naitutulong at naiaambag sa lipunan at pagpapaunlad ng bayan; ganoondin upang mabigyan sila ng sapat at wastong kaalaman ukol sa komprehensibong karapatan ng kababaihan, itaguyod ang husay at galing ng bawat babae, at mabigyan sila ng proteksyon laban sa lahat ng uri ng pang-aabuso.
