BACOOR CITY, Cavite - The city government has started distributing financial support to farmers and hog raisers in this city who were affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF).
On March 4, Bacoor City Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla led the distribution of financial assistance amounting to P5.185 million to 113 hog raisers from Barangays San Nicolas 3, Queens Row Central, East and West, Molino 2, Molino 3, Molino 6, and Molino 7.
Aside from the cash assistance, the beneficiaries also received gardening tools, seeds, and fertilizers as aid to start urban farming as alternative livelihood from the losses incurred.
The program seeks to ease the woes of hograisers for the loss of income and livelihood from the death of their hogs due to the ASF virus. (Ruel Francisco/with reports from PIO-Bacoor)
