CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Provincial Government of Laguna established a new Provincial Isolation Facility in San Pablo City as it continues to strengthen precautionary measures against COVID-19.
The Provincial Government set up its first Provincial Isolation Facility as part of the Infection Prevention And Control Unit of the Pagamutang Panlalawigan ng Laguna (PPL)- San Pablo District Hospital.
Even before the disease that originated from China have become pandemic, the Provincial Hospital had been swift to allot fund from the Department of Health (DOH) to establish a new building that shall serve as temporary isolation facility for the persons under investigation (PUI).
To ensure that the place and staff are all set to accommodate suspected COVID-19 carriers, Governor Ramil Hernandez recently visited and inspected the newly launched facility.

He expressed his trust among the medical staff of the said district hospital as they have been prepared and trained to handle the situation.
The Governor said that DOH funded the temporary isolation facility, has provided a total of 20 hospital beds and high-technology medical equipment, and assigned a Medical team with expertise in handling patients with highly-infectious disease.
He mentioned that the Provincial Government is ready to set up an additional isolation facility for the 1st and 2nd Districts if the need arises.
The Provincial Government assures that the isolation rooms of all nine district hospitals of the province are prepared to serve PUIs and the facilities and equipment of these public hospitals are continuously being upgraded to benefit the Lagunenses.
