CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - Motorists can now utilize four-lane secondary roads going to tourist destinations in Lobo, Batangas.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed two (2) widening projects along Batangas-Lobo Road and Lobo-Malabrigo Road in an effort to increase road capacity and attract more tourists in the town of Lobo which is home to the famous Malabrigo Beach and Lighthouse.

DPWH Batangas 2nd District Engineering Office implemented the road widening and drainage projects along Batangas-Lobo Road and Lobo-Malabrigo Road in the amount of P70.97 Million and P53.72 Million respectively.

“The 933-meter section of Batangas-Lobo Road from Barangay Tulo to Barangay Paharang and 1,017-meter Lobo-Malabrigo Road from Barangay Mabilog na Bundok to Barangay Olo-olo were widened from two (2) lanes. These road improvements were originally aimed for completion by the end of February 2020 but we have completed the projects December last year,” said DPWH Batangas 2nd District Engineer Sonia D. Paglicauan.

“With these projects, gridlock will be prevented in areas that were previously considered as choke points going to Lobo’s tourist destinations. These roads also has drainage provision to prevent flooding in the area,” added District Engineer Paglicauan. (DPW/PIA 4A)
