CALAMBA CITY - Gov. Jonvic Remulla has corrected a CNN Philippines report claiming that there were 11 positive cases of COVID-19 in Imus, Cavite.
In his facebook post on Wednesday night, Remulla said the reported 11 positive cases are persons under monitoring (PUM).
“As a matter of correction, the Provincial Health Office wishes to convey, that the 11 reported are actually persons under monitoring,” Remulla said.
The CNN report had since been taken down, according to Remulla.
He described the PUMs as the persons who appeared in the contact tracing efforts from patient no. 1 who tested positive of the virus.
The patient is a returning seaman who passed through Narita Airport in Japan.
“All have been tested or are undergoing self quarantine procedures. We are vigilant in providing the public with the most accurate, up-to-date information available,” the governor added.
He assured residents that sanitation of the areas affected in Imus are underway. (MCA/PIA LAGUNA)
