CANDELARIA, Quezon - An ambulance driver ended up wounded after he insisted to his fellow home owners to have the vehicle parked inside a subdivision at Brgy. Malabanban Norte, here.

Quezon police director, Col. Audie Madrideo said Sofronio Ramilo, 51, ambulance driver of Peter Paul Medical Center of Candelaria Inc.and resident of Maliwanag Subd. sustained a minor injury on his right index finger.

Madrideo identified the suspect as Ramil Alcantara, 45, jobless and a co- homeowner of Ramilo in the subdivision.

Alcantara was eventually arrested by responding policemen of Candelaria police station under officer-in-charge Major Gaylor Pagala, who is also the chief of Provincial Intelligence Branch.

Pagala said the incident happened at 9:00 p.m. while Ramilo was having his dinner shortly after he parked his driven ambulance inside the subdivision.

"Ramilo was confronted by some of his neighbors including Alcantara and told him to park the vehicle somewhere else for it has been used by patients infected by coronavirus desease (COVID-19)", said Pagala.

He said Ramilo explained that the vehicle has been used only by frontliners like doctors and nurses and that it is properly disenfected daily by the hospital crews after being used. "But Alcantara did not buy it until he pulled a gun and had it fired on the ground. But the slug after hitting a hard object ricochetted hitting Ramilo", Pagala said.

Ramilo was taken to Peter Paul Medical Center for medical treatment.

Policemen quickly responded and arrested Alcantara but the gun he used could no longer be found.

He was charged with frustrated homicide before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office and is now detained at the police station's Lock- Up Jail.
