LUCENA CITY - Mayor Roderick "Dondon" Alcala said on May 20, this town finally posted zero active cases of Coronavirus Disease 19 (COVID-19).
Mayor Alcala is pleased to announce that Lucena City, Quezon is now COVID-19-free following the last coronavirus disease patient from this town.
In the Mayor's Facebook post, he said the remaining patients from Brgy. Isabang, Brgy. Cotta, Brgy. 11 and Brgy. Mayao Kanluran has recovered from COVID-19.
According to data from the City Health Office and Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Lucena, the four (4) remaining cases of COViD-19 in the city is now in the "Recovered and Cleared" status.
Mayor Alcala said, "Ibig sabihin po nito ay zero na ang kaso ng mga confirmed cases sa Lucena. Negative din po sa nasabing sakit ang lahat ng ating mga frontliners at barangay officials na isinailalim sa pagsusuri."
But then he was quick to remind people not to be complacent because COViD-19 remains a serious threat.
"Gayunpaman, hindi pa rin po tayo dapat makampante. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin po tayong lalaban sa pandemyang ito." Mayor Alcala added.
He encouraged his constituents to continue to comply with quarantine regulations as he commended them for the city's Covid-19-free status.
"Maraming salamat po ng marami, Panginoon! Manatiling mag-ingat, mga kababayan!" the mayor said.
