CALABARZON, Philippines - The Department of Health Center for Health Development Region 4A, Regional Director Dr. Eduardo C. Janairo shared the real situation of CALABARZON in the fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In an interview, RD Janairo explained the up-to-date information frequently asked by the public about the infectious disease of COVID 19 and he also made it clear to everyone about the current situation in the entire region.
According to RD Janairo, the data that are intended to inform the public are not consistent because they are going through a thorough study and not because the incompatible data is not published by the various agencies.
He also strongly stated that if the test center is private, then national data will not be accessible immediately because the data will be submitted directly at the provincial or municipal level and will not be reported immediately at the national level in any additional positive cases.
He added that strong data validation on patients at the local level was made available before being added to the official list of new positive cases at the national level.
On the other hand, regional testing laboratories are being further studied because the capability of small testing laboratories can not accommodate patients in the need of urgent medical attention.
Approximately 21 testing laboratories are being attempted in the CALABARZON area to avoid misunderstandings of COVID-19-related information and to expedite patient testing.
Based on the information given by Regional Director Janairo, their agency continues to plan for a growing number of disease-positive people and continues to launch and research the expansion of dedicated isolation facilities and testing laboratories.
They are also working closely with government and private hospitals to help predict and play a role in the battle against COVID-19 in the planning and strengthening of the regional health care system to respond to rising cases. (with reports from CAO/PIA4A)
