ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - The Provincial Government of Rizal paid tribute to all the frontliners on the 119th Rizal Day with the theme "Mamamayang Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaligtasan at Katatagan ng Lalawigan".
The Provincial Government stated in the video that "Sa gitna ng pandemya, nagkakaisa at sama-sama natin gunitain ng Ika-119 na Araw ng Lalawigan ng Rizal habang isinasaisip natin ang katapangan at buong pusong sakripisyo ng ating mga minamahal na frontliners."
The video showed some patients recovered from COVID 19 including a one-month-old baby and some people thanking the frontliners.
The video also features extended and targeted testing in the province, relief distribution as well as those Rizaleño who are stuck in other areas where frontline medical, distribution and transport play a vital role in the battle against COVID 19.
In the Rizal PIO's update at 10:00 PM on June 10, though the provincial government's COVID-positive cases have recorded 560, there are only 128 active cases.
In conjunction with the celebration, the Provincial Government held its own flag-raising ceremonies and LGUs in Rizal.
Some LGUs such as the town of Baras still carried out flag-raising although it was raining.
However, the national government guidelines such as wearing a face mask, social distancing, and limiting social gatherings to 10 people are difficult to implement in such programs. (with reports from Rizal PIO)
