BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas city government will once again impose restrictions on residents who leave their homes.

In an interview with Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha, she said that after the city was declared under the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), they noticed an excessive number of people coming out especially the elderly and children.

Since the movement of the people has eased, it is noteworthy that the number of confirmed COVID 19 cases in the city has increased. On July 8, 2020, there were 11 more cases in the case where eight of them were front liners.

As a result, the city government will re-implement the use of quarantine pass (QP) contained in Executive Order No. 31 signed by Mayor Dimacuha.

Each family will be given a new QP available from Monday to Friday. It is transferrable to other family members except for those who are forbidden to come out such as 20 down and 60 up, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities with co-morbidities.

APOR or Authorized Persons Outside of Residence with ID, certification of business registration, work permit, certificate of employment, and drivers of public utility vehicles (PUV) no longer need to use QP.

The mayor stressed that the public needs to take seriously the health problems facing not only the city but the whole world. She said that if people continue to break the rule, it will have a greater impact in the future.
