IMUS CITY, Cavite - Through the City Agriculture Services Office (CASO) the local government, has recently launched the Punla Project, the primary responsibility of the city government to ensure adequate food and adequate levels in emergency situations.
According to the Imus Public Information Office (PIO), the project includes the Plant, Plant, Plant Program, which aims to increase the production of rice and vegetables specifically in the city by enhancing the use of seed properties, appropriate inputs and modern technology to increase and ensure a level of productivity, availability, availability, accessibility, and affordability.
It will focus on farmers engaged in the production of rice and vegetables for its immediate program, which will respond immediately to the needs of the community for food supply.
Whereas, the medium-term program, such as container and vertical-gardening, focuses on backyard planting on a small scale.
Through the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program, and the establishment of Gulayan sa Barangay (Communal Gardening), the long-term plan will focus on restoring and improving natural land, and vacant lots in organic vegetable farms to ensure sustainable food production at a high level.
The City Government of Imus spearheads the implementation of Project Punla with the full support of the City Mayor's Office, City Agricultural Services Office, City Information Office, City Tourism and Development Office, Farmers/Land Owners, Homeowners' Association, Department of Education, and the Senior Citizens.
Through the program, the farmers in the city as well as the less privileged, and other interested Imuseños will have a new source of living that would ensure a decent and healthy life by growing healthy and nutritious food. (Ruel Francisco, PIA-Cavite with reports from Imus PIO)
