LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The provincial government of Quezon recently turned-over agricultural inputs and farm machineries to rice farmers associations in the 4th district.
Agri-inputs and farm machineries distributed include: hand tractor, rice thresher, power sprayers and multi-purpose shredders according to Quezon Public Information Office.
The Provincial Agriculture Office said the agricultural inputs and farm machineries will help the farmers' associations in the 4th district of Quezon to increase rice production and other agricultural crops in the area.
Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez along with Vice Gov. Samuel Nantes and Chief of Staff Jenny Lopez Suarez and other provincial government officials led the formal turn-over of the agricultural equipment to the program beneficiaries.
The recipients in the municipality of Calauag were: Samahan ng mga Magsasaka of Barangay Apad-Quezon; Samahan ng Magsasaka Nagpapaunlad sa Ilalim ng Niyugan; Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Villa Isidro; SIPAG Calauag; Calamasi Growers Association; Samahan ng Magmamais gn Kigtan and the Calauag Seaweed Farmers Federation.
On the other hand, the following farmers associations in the town of Lopez were the beneficiaries: Barangay Sta. Teresa Farmers Association ; Buenavista Farmers Association; Farmers Association of Banabahin Ibaba; Lopez Federation of Farmers Association; Kalipunan ng Magniniyog ng Lopez; Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Barangay Villageda; SIPAG- Lopez; Samahan ng Magtatanim ng Mais sa Lopez and Cacao Growers Association of Lopez.
In Gumaca, the grantees were: Mabunga Farmers Association, Samahan ng Magpapalay of Barangay Cacasahan Ibaba; San Vicente Farmers Association; Cawayan farmers Association; Samahan ng Magsasaka ng Panikihan; SICAP-Gumaca; Mango Growers Association among others.(Ruel Orinday- PIA-Quezon)
