LUCENA CITY - As coronavirus desease (COVID-19) cases continue to rise fast in Quezon province which now has almost a thousand confirmed cases, two more patients were reported to have died in the hospital.
In its 10:00 a.m. bulletin, the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) announced the death of two virus carriers from Lucban town.
It also announced that 10 new confirned cases and 5 new recoveries were recorded in different towns.
Dr. Grace Santiago who heads the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) said the two fatalities, both female and aged 56 and 71 were both stroke patients.
Santiago said the former died after she was transfered to a hospital in Silang, Cavite while the latter expired in a hospital in Lucban, Quezon.
The province currently has 981 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 549 recoveries, 33 deaths and 399 active cases.
But Santiago clarified that despite the continuing increase of confirmed cases in Quezon, it remains as the lowest in Calabarzon region.
Quezon is now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) staus except for this city which remains under MGCQ.
