BATANGAS CITY - The Batangas City government will implement aggressive contact tracing similar to that implemented in Baguio City.
Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha said that they had already contacted the office of Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City, known as the czar's contact tracing, due to the efficient implementation of contact tracing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in his city.
PLtCol Armelina Manalong, CIDG PRO Calabarzon, served as a lecturer who also trained and taught contact tracing in the city of Baguio.
Contact tracing is a type of technique used to find people who have encountered a positive COVID-19 patient.
According to Manalong, e-system data collection is one of the most important methods of contact tracing. This includes the analysis and use of the geographic information system ( GIS) platform to determine the location of the COVID-19 patient and its participants.
Baguio City also discussed the COVID19 Incident Management Work Flow, which is used first by contact tracers who carry out an assessment and analysis of COVID-19 patients. They also carry out swabbing and transport insulation treatment facilities and eventually undergo psychological treatment.
Based on the plan, the city will order a lockdown in the affected area where the PNP and the Defense Security Services will deploy the security team.
The City will also be in charge of the Emergency Operations Center, where the Batangas City case will be set up at the Teachers Conference Center.
The Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENRO) and the General Services Office (GSO) will conduct disinfection while the Public Information Office will post updates to COVID on its Facebook page.
Manalo also emphasized the importance of local chief executives because their quick action and skills can slow down the spread of COVID 19 infection.
The data collection tool that can be used in contact tracing as used in law enforcement investigations is also discussed.
According to Dra. Rosanna Barrion, head of the City Health Office (CHO), will form two contact tracing teams with 10 contacts tracing personnel and 10 trained contact tracing personnel.
According to the CHO, the average number of daily infections is three and the average number of swab tests per day is 75. (with a report from PIO Batangas City)
