LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Led by Quezon Gov. Danilo Suarez and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) -4A OIC-Regional Manager Ramon Rivera opened the "Coconut Bazaar at Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita" at the PCA compound in this city on August 25.

In his speech, Mr. Ramon Rivera shared that it is a major challenge for him to fill the vacancy position to step up assistance to stakeholders who are farmers. He also sees a large supply chain in the Province which aims to enrich the tree of life in our Province.

According to the Quezon Public Information Office, the activity was held in conjunction with the celebration of "20th National Coconut Month".

On the said occasion, Suarez instructed Provincial Agriculture Roberto Gajo to develop a plan on how to increase the number of coconuts in Quezon province which is also a source of income for farmers.

Rivera, on the other hand, said that it is a big challenge for him to fill the vacancies in their office to intensify the assistance to farmer's stakeholders.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Quezon Provincial Director Julieta Tadiosa, products made from coconut exported abroad are known in the global market because of their good benefits to the people.

"Nananawagan din ako sa ating mga kababayan dito sa Quezon na ating pagyamanin ang industriya ng pagniniyog sa ating lalawigan", Tadiosa said.

Meanwhile, the Quezon provincial government continues to promote programs to also recognize Quezon in cacao and coffee products. For now, the Provincial Government aims to get to know Quezon even in cacao and coffee to make our Province a food basket along with the emergence of new skills to improve the farming industry.

In a message from Governor Danilo E. Suarez of the Quezon Province, Provincial Agriculturist G. Roberto Gajo, in collaboration with the Heads of the PCA, will be instructed to develop a plan on how to increase the number of coconuts in our province. He also announced the construction of the Virgin Coconut Oil Processing Facility in Pagbilao City, especially now that the VCO is known to have a good effect on our health and is being studied against COVID-19.

For the time being, the Provincial Government intends to become acquainted with Quezon in cocoa and coffee, to make our Province a food basket, along with the emergence of new skills to boost the farming industry.
