CALAMBA CITY - Calamba City Mayor Justin SB Chipeco proposed to representatives of the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 to make the building of the former CALABARZON Regional Government Center in Barangay Mapagong, in this city an isolation facility.

According to Mayor Chipeco, for now, it is just a building that is vacant and the access road only needs to be adjusted to be used as an isolation facility.





BCDA Pres. & CEO Sec. Vivencio Dizon called the landlord where the building is located and agreed to make it an isolation facility that Mayor Chipeco was pleased with.

Sec. Dizon that once the building is renovated, up to 500+ isolation beds can be placed here.





Dizon also assured the provincial government, especially the mayors of the five cities in Laguna with the highest number of COVID-19 cases that the NTF will not abandon them.

"Ang NTF ay nakatakdang bisitahin sa mga susunod na araw ang limang syudad na may maraming kaso ng COVID-19 upang i-guide at tumulong sa mga pamahalaang lokal sa kanilang mga hakbang upang mapigilan ang pagtaas pa ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 ," Sec. Dizon explained.





Among the cities in Laguna that has the highest number of COVID-19 confirmed cases are Sta. Rosa City, Binan City, Cabuyao City, Calamba City, and San Pedro. Also mentioned by Sec. Dizon that NTF will visit San Pablo and Los Banos.

Laguna Assistant Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jose Odilon Inoncillo at the coordination meeting of Laguna TF, Regional TF, and National TF Against COVID-19 this morning at Hotel Marciano, most of the new cases recorded were factory and company workers located in industrial and science parks in various towns in Laguna.

Prior to this, Sec. Dizon told the local governments that when the NTF goes to their hometown, they will also invite representatives from various locators to the industrial and science parks in their area. This is to join them and be part of the development of necessary measures to prevent or resolve the ever-increasing COVID-19 case in Laguna, especially in industrial and science parks.

The coordination meeting between the Laguna Task Force, Regional Task Force, and the National Task Force Against COVID-19 has been set by the Laguna provincial government to discuss steps to be taken and implemented to prevent further increase in numbers of the COVID-19 case in the province.

On the NTF part Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez, Jr .; Chairperson Sec. Delfin Lorenzana; Vice Chairperson Sec. Eduardo Ano; IATF Chairperson Sec. Francisco Duque III; and President and CEO, BCDA Sec. Vivencio Dizon.

From the provincial government, Laguna Gov. Ramil Hernandez, Asst. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Jose Odilon Inoncillo who reported on the current situation of COVID-19 in Laguna and other members of the Provincial TF.

Sta. Rosa City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas; Binan City Mayor Arman Dimaguila; Cabuyao City Mayor Mel Gecolea, and Calamba City Mayor Justin SB Chipeco.

Laguna 2nd District Rep. Ruth Mariano Hernandez and representatives of various government agencies that make up the Regional NTF also attended.
