BATANGAS CITY - Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha and Congressman Marvey Mariño led the ceremonial turn over of gadgets and school supplies donated by the city government to the Dep Ed Schools Division of Batangas City, August 19.
About 2300 teachers and school heads will receive laptops and 25,000 junior and senior high school students in public schools in the city will receive tablets for them to use at the entrance.
The class opening study adjourned on October 5 will not be face-to-face in accordance with DepEd Order 007, s. 2020 as care for the welfare and health of teachers and students
According to Dep Ed Superintendent Dr Zaldy Bolanos, the funds used for the project came from the special education fund of the Local School Board (LSB).
Bags and envelopes containing school supplies such as notebooks, paper, pencils and ballpen were distributed to students from first to sixth grade.
“Wala nang dahilan upang hindi makapag-aral ang ating mga kabataan, ginagawa natin ang lahat ng paraan upang matugunan ang kanilang mga pangangailangan”, Bolanos said.
He said they are very grateful to the local government for the help and support it provides to SDO Batangas City.
Bolanos said that it is up to the schools to distribute tablets and school supplies to their students.
