Laguna province holds the highest COVID 19 cases in CALABARZON
Regional Director Eduardo C. Janairo

According to the August 5, 2020 COVID-19 Situation Report of the Department of Health (DOH) – CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), the province of Laguna holds the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the region with 3,332 followed by the provinces of Rizal with 1,785, Cavite -1,452, Batangas – 1,281 and Quezon – 436.

A total of 8,286 cases were recorded with 2,783 recoveries and 315 deaths.

“CALABARZON is one of the country’s economic region and 35 of the 74-manufacturing special economic zones are located here at karamihan dito nasa Laguna.

Janairo added that the regional office has sent additional health workers in the provinces to augment the lack of nurses and doctors who will manage COVID-19 patients.

“We have sufficient supplies of surgical masks, gloves and other PPEs for our health workers in the region,” he assured.
