BACOOR CITY, Cavite - The city government here thru its City Task Force Against COVID-19 launched the Expanded Targeted Mass Swab Testing (ETMST) in the city August 6, 2020 at Bacoor National High School Tabing Dagat and at Zapote Elementary School.
The said activities were part of the countermeasure undertaken by the city government in coordination with the National Task Force Against COVID-19 led by Deputy Chief Implementer and BCDA Chairman Secretary Vince Dizon.
On the first day of the ETMST, more than 800 city residents comprised of staff, personnel, security, and maintenance of the Hall of Justice underwent the swab testing. Also, the vendors of the Tabing Dagat wet market, several LGU employees, residents and vendors within the vicinity of Zapote that was previously placed under lockdown due to local transmission.
Sec. Vince Dizon visited the city July 23, 2020 and held a dialogue with the Bacoor City Task Force to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the city and the steps needed to address the concerns on the containment of the coronavirus.
During the visit, Sec. Dizon turned over Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sets for use of the medical frontliners and about 2,000 swab test kits that were used in the ETMST.
Aside from the swab test kits, the NTF also provided several two-sided swabbing booths resulting to the fast and efficient test procedures undertaken among residents with strict observance of health quarantine protocols like the 'no face mask, no entry,' and physical distancing.
